When COVID hit, a wave of school closures swept across the country. However, Paul Chiou, MPH, SCT(ASCP), a faculty of MS Cytology Program at Rutgers Biomedical Health Sciences, did not just go with the flow. Instead he took initiative and quickly figured out how to continue to provide education to pathology students during the lockdown. Not only was the teaching a success, but they were able to publish their method and findings in Journal of the American Society of Cytopathology.
In the introduction of the paper, he wrote:
"This is a cost-effective method to transition a traditional in-classroom program into online teaching for cytology. It can also be implemented quickly."
We are very happy to see the innovative ways that our users have used LabCam to solve problems and create meaningful improvements in areas like the delivery of education. Congratulations Paul!
